KENAI FINE ARTS CENTER
Peninsula Art Guild/Kenai River Council on the Arts
SALES GALLERY POLICY 2011

IT IS THE HOPE OF PAG/KRCA THAT THE KENAI PENINSULA ART COMMUNITY WILL BENEFIT FROM THE CHALLENGE OF ITS FINE ARTS CRITERIA WHEN SEEKING TO DISPLAY ART IN THE SALES GALLERY.

1. Artists wishing to show their work in KFAC Sales Gallery are asked to provide a representative grouping of their art for consideration and a brief artist statement.

2. Art submitted will be reviewed by the Sales Gallery Coordinator (SGC)/Review Committee (RC) in terms of the KFAC Fine Arts Criteria. Notification as to acceptance will be sent to submitting artist as soon as possible.

3. Art is then accepted for display based on space available and aesthetic presentation: currently one shelf unit/potter allotment, floor space for larger pottery pieces, 1-4 paintings unless other arrangements have been made, hanging and 3D works as space permits. Holding shelves are available for storing additional artwork waiting for space in gallery.

4. Once an artist’s work is accepted for the sales gallery, it is not necessary to have future work reviewed unless of a divergent nature.

5.When an artist’s sales gallery art is sold, the SGC will replace it with work remaining on that artist’s overflow shelf and/or contact artist for additional art. In order to keep fresh art in the gallery we ask that after 12 months, unsold artwork needs to be rotated out of the gallery by the artist and, hopefully, replaced with fresher art. Gallery will notify artists of these pieces so that specified art will be rotated out of gallery within one month of notification. After one month any **unclaimed unsold art** will become the property of KFAC and may be claimed on your IRS filing as a donation. See #6 for IRS filing.

6.Artists may, at any time, donate art work for KFAC fund raising. For example, the annual Harvest Auction and the Holiday Silent Auction in December. For IRS filing, our EIN is 01-1841201

7. Commissions on all sales withheld by PAG/KRCA are based on the following:
Non-members—40 % - Members—30% - *Volunteer Artist 20% (4 hours a month)
*Artists must record their own volunteer hours at KFAC to receive volunteer commission.

8.Artists determine artwork price with gallery commission included.

9. 12-month display of art is appreciated to avoid unbalanced presentations of art in sales gallery. Advance notification by artist of artwork withdrawal is requested.

Sales Gallery Artists: Please sign, date, and submit this page and your inventory form to acknowledge you have read and understand the above policies. Thank you for being a participant of the KFAC Sales Gallery where your creations are shared with the community in the best possible light.
